Toptots Musgrave is part of the Toptots Parent & Child Workshop network, offering carefully designed early childhood development classes for babies and young children from 6 weeks to 4 years.

Founded in 1994, Toptots was created to give parents and caregivers an opportunity to spend meaningful, focused time with their little ones while supporting their development through purposeful play. Our age-specific programmes are designed around the developmental needs of each stage, supporting cognitive, emotional, social and physical development in a fun and nurturing environment.

Toptots Musgrave is owned by Raeesa Carim, who joined the Toptots family in 2020. A mom to two children, Raeesa has an interesting and varied professional background. Originally qualified as a lawyer, she later followed her interest in education and recently qualified as an early childhood development teacher. She now teaches at a school in Durban.

Raeesa personally taught the Toptots Musgrave classes from opening her branch in 2020 until January 2026. Caring, committed and attentive to detail, she has always put a great deal into the way her classes are presented. She has a lovely way with parents and children and brings warmth, enthusiasm and a genuine desire to give her best to the families attending her branch.

After completing her ECD qualification and taking up her teaching position, Raeesa handed the day to day teaching of the Toptots programme over to Nasreen, who is the branch's dedicated Toptots teacher. Raeesa remains closely involved in the branch, working with and supporting Nasreen to maintain the care and attention she has established at Toptots Musgrave.

Toptots Musgrave operates from its own dedicated premises, providing a space specifically for Toptots families to learn, play and enjoy meaningful time together.

Classes include a variety of age appropriate activities incorporating sensory and messy play, music, movement, fine and gross motor activities, perceptual development and creative exploration. Parents and caregivers are also given practical ideas and guidance that they can take home and continue using with their children between classes.

More than simply keeping little hands busy, every Toptots activity has a purpose. Through play, interaction and quality one on one time, we aim to support each child's development while strengthening the connection between parent and child.
