The Messy Lab was born from a shared belief that children learn best when they're encouraged to explore, experiment, ask questions, and get their hands dirty. Founded by two friends—a biochemist and a play therapist—we set out to create meaningful, screen-free experiences that nurture curiosity while making STEM accessible, exciting, and fun.

Our hands-on STEM boxes are thoughtfully designed for children and filled with engaging experiments and creative activities that introduce real scientific concepts in an age-appropriate, playful way. Every experiment is carefully tested and developed to encourage problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, confidence, and a genuine love of learning. We believe that science shouldn't feel intimidating—it should feel like an adventure. Not only do we have the option for a once-off purchase, we also have the option to subscribe and get 4 different boxes a year, to keep the learning and fun going!

At The Messy Lab, we're passionate about creating moments of connection, too. Whether a child is exploring independently or alongside a parent, grandparent, sibling, or friend, our activities are designed to spark conversations, laughter, and shared discovery. Each box provides everything needed for the experiments, along with easy-to-follow instructions, fun science facts, and opportunities for children to wonder, predict, observe, and explore.
