Founded in 1994, Toptots was created to give parents and caregivers an opportunity to spend meaningful, focused time with their little ones while supporting their development through purposeful play. Our age-specific programmes are designed around the developmental needs of each stage, supporting cognitive, emotional, social and physical development in a fun and nurturing environment.

Toptots Cape Town CBD is owned and run by Abigail Shapiro, who opened her branch in January 2013 and has been part of the Toptots family ever since. Abigail's experience with children began before Toptots when she worked as an au pair and she has also completed formal training in early childhood development.

Dedicated, driven and determined, Abigail has built and maintained her Toptots branch for more than a decade. She brings energy and commitment to her business and enjoys giving parents and caregivers the opportunity to spend meaningful, focused time learning and playing with their little ones.

Classes include a variety of age appropriate activities incorporating sensory and messy play, music, movement, fine and gross motor activities, perceptual development and creative exploration. Parents and caregivers are also given practical ideas and guidance that they can take home and continue using with their children between classes.

More than simply keeping little hands busy, every Toptots activity has a purpose. Through play, interaction and quality one on one time, we aim to support each child's development while strengthening the connection between parent and child.
