Hello! I am Carita McCririe. My name means "charity" in Italian, and the day my mom gave me this name, she spoke my calling over my life.

My husband, Jonathan, and I are privileged to run the beautiful LIV Village in Durban, where we care for orphan and vulnerable children of South Africa. We have three gorgeous children; Noah, Jessica and Ezra. We love living on this Zulu village, where we get to experience the diversity of our nation and see God's Father Heart play out in hundreds of different ways on a daily basis. Hearing Noah's speak with a strong Zulu-accent goes to show how he has embraced this life and is thriving in this environment.

My life is very full! Our home is situated smack in the middle of the village with children, mothers, staff and our dog, Moses, always coming through our doors. I have called LIV my home for over 12 years and throughout this time I have learned so much about motherhood. Not only by raising my own three children at LIV or doing life with our LIV children, but also from the amazing foster mothers I work with.

My journey is one of obedience to the voice of my Heavenly Father, to be an expression of the gospel to this world. If you have a desire to be obedient to the Lord, I pray that my storyy will inspire you to take that step of faith. Because when the Lord asks us to be obedient, just like when he asked Abraham, it was not for the sake of us - it was for the sake of the next generation!
