Our story
GlowFit started in 2016, while I was still working full-time as a senior lecturer at a sport and fitness college. One of the modules I taught was Exercise Science for Pregnancy — and it was through teaching this that I found a real passion for training women through this uniquely powerful phase of life. I also saw a gap: there was very little real support out there for pregnant women on how to train safely, what was actually okay to do, and that they should be exercising, along with all the benefits that come with it.
I already held a B.Sc Honours in Human Movement Science & Nutrition, and I knew this was the direction I wanted to take it. I wanted to create a safe space for pregnant and postpartum women — somewhere they could feel confident they were looking after their own health and their baby's health in the best way possible. I went on to complete further studies in pre/postnatal exercise science, along with a doula certification and a lactation consultant certification.
I believe strong moms make strong, happy babies. And after having two babies of my own, this side of my work holds a very special place in my heart.
GlowFit began purely online, then grew into a physical studio where I could train women in person. Today, it's a space where women in every phase of life can come and train — with pre/postnatal care remaining our specialty. I run small-group, strength-based classes designed for individualised attention.
Strength training for women is essential, and it's often overlooked — especially heading into perimenopause and menopause, where it becomes one of the most important pillars of your long-term health. I love helping women let go of the fear of lifting weights, and there's nothing quite like watching a woman realise what she's truly capable of. GlowFit is far more than an exercise class — it's a community.
