About Play Africa
Play Africa is Southern Africa’s first interactive children’s museum; a safe, welcoming space where children can learn through play, explore their creativity, and feel a true sense of belonging. Recognised by HundrED.org as one of the world’s most impactful education innovators, we bring together hands-on exhibits, creative programmes, parent engagement, and teacher training to make learning exciting for every child.
We focus on early childhood development (ECD) and primary school years, helping children develop critical thinking, confidence, and skills for a rapidly changing world. Our mission is to offer every child an educational experience worthy of their potential, while inspiring families and communities to dream bigger together.
From our home at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg; a place rich in history and the spirit of human rights protection, we imagine a more just and equitable society that honours every child’s dignity, creativity, and potential.
