Founded in 1994, Toptots was created to give parents and caregivers an opportunity to spend meaningful, focused time with their little ones while supporting their development through purposeful play. Our age-specific programmes are designed around the developmental needs of each stage, supporting cognitive, emotional, social and physical development in a fun and nurturing environment.

Toptots Secunda is owned and run by Pearl Basson, who has been part of the Toptots family since 2007. A mom to two young adult daughters, Pearl brings many years of Toptots experience as well as a professional background in the mental health sector to her branch.

Pearl has a strong understanding of emotional wellbeing in children and a particular interest and knowledge in ADD and ADHD. Her background has given her valuable insight into the importance of recognising each child as an individual and understanding that children develop, respond and learn in different ways.

Warm, caring and gracious, Pearl has a gentle and respectful manner that makes her lovely to talk to. She is committed to supporting the parents and children who come through her Toptots doors and brings many years of knowledge and experience to what she does.

Classes include a variety of age appropriate activities incorporating sensory and messy play, music, movement, fine and gross motor activities, perceptual development and creative exploration. Parents and caregivers are also given practical ideas and guidance that they can take home and continue using with their children between classes.

More than simply keeping little hands busy, every Toptots activity has a purpose. Through play, interaction and quality one on one time, we aim to support each child's development while strengthening the connection between parent and child.
