About Us
Toptots Melkbosstrand is part of the Toptots Parent & Child Workshop network, offering carefully designed early childhood development classes for babies and young children from 6 weeks to 4 years.
Founded in 1994, Toptots was created to give parents and caregivers an opportunity to spend meaningful, focused time with their little ones while supporting their development through purposeful play. Our age-specific programmes are designed around the developmental needs of each stage, supporting cognitive, emotional, social and physical development in a fun and nurturing environment.
Toptots Melkbosstrand is owned and run by Tarryn van der Toorn, who joined the Toptots family in October 2024. As a mother to a young toddler herself, Tarryn is experiencing these exciting early years of childhood alongside many of the parents who attend her classes.
Tarryn is outgoing, confident and motivated and brings plenty of enthusiasm to her Toptots branch. She has also recently completed her International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) certification and is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor, adding another wonderful dimension to her work with babies and their parents.
Classes include a variety of age appropriate activities incorporating sensory and messy play, music, movement, fine and gross motor activities, perceptual development and creative exploration. Parents and caregivers are also given practical ideas and guidance that they can take home and continue using with their children between classes.
More than simply keeping little hands busy, every Toptots activity has a purpose. Through play, interaction and quality one on one time, we aim to support each child's development while strengthening the connection between parent and child.
