Hello!
I’m Chereen, a 30-something mom navigating the happy chaos of a blended family in beautiful Cape Town. As mom to an 11-year-old tween, three-year-old twin boys, my (almost) 12-year-old bonus daughter, life is wonderfully full and always exciting.
As a former beauty editor turned full-time mom, I’ve always had a slightbeauty addiction and a love for sharing my tried-and-tested tips and products that really work, to help make life – and navigating the beauty aisle – a little easier and a lot more enjoyable for busy moms everywhere.
I’ve been blogging professionally since 2010, but my love for writing and sharing stories began way before then, when I wrote and designed my own magazine when I was just 10 years old. My first blog, For The Beauty Of It, was launched in October 2010 and started predominantly as a beauty blog. During this time, I worked with major beauty brands including Estee Lauder, La Mer, Lancôme, Bobbi Brown, Revlon, Chanel, and many, many more. Over the years (and after the birth of my first son in 2013), For The Beauty Of It evolved into a space where I shared my experiences of motherhood, as well as my favourite baby- and toddler-related finds.
Fast forward over a decade - as well as a move to the countryside, a divorce, a stint as a single mom, a move back to the Southern suburbs of Cape Town, a new partner, a step daughter, and the birth of our twin boys - and life looks a whole lot different (and more chaotic) these days!
After the birth of our twins, I felt that my brand and business needed a bit of a revamp to reflect my new life and interests. And so, This Mamma Loves was born. While I still write about some of my favourite beauty finds, I also share my insights on simplified motherhood and minimalish living and my aim is to help busy moms like you to slow down, simplify, and savour every precious moment.
Whether it’s managing morning routines, finding time-saving hacks, dealing with toddler tantrums, or decluttering and organising our homes with minimalist principles, I believe in keeping things real and relatable. My goal is to inspire and support fellow moms as we navigate this journey together.
