About Us
Milk Matters is a non-profit human milk bank operating in Cape Town, supplying screened, pasteurised donor breastmilk to state and private hospitals for premature babies.
Donor breastmilk is a lifeline for these very low birth weight premature babies if their own mothers cannot supply the breastmilk their baby needs.
Just 50ml of breastmilk can feed a baby of under 1000g for a full 24 hours in their early days of life - and can save their life!
Milk Matters has been in operation feeding premature babies since 2003 and supplies hospitals in the greater Cape Town area and beyond with pasteurised donor breastmilk.
We invite every0ne to support us, whether by donating breastmilk, funds, time or expertise, so that more premature babies can be given the very best chance to survive and thrive after entering the world far too soon.
